| So... anyone here like sports? Which ones? Want to share your favorite teams, perchance? Or maybe you play a sport yourself?!!? (No Areetsa, smashing people's brains out with medieval hammers does not count as a sport.) | |

| Parkour! It is AWESOME! Also ninja fighting. And pranking can be a sport, if you count the running. | |

Actually, I've been looking at halberds lately. Shipping on the Lucerne was prohibitively expensive.

Shipping on the Lucerne was prohibitively expensive. Do you actually buy anything? Or do you just look at buying them and then move onto a different weapon...

Shipping on the Lucerne was prohibitively expensive. Do you actually buy anything? Or do you just look at buying them and then move onto a different weapon... Actually, the plan is to finally get around to the firearms permit, followed by an SKS. After that and maybe 250 rounds of 7mm Soviet, I'll have a look at my discretionary funds and see if there's any left over for sharp-and-pointies. As far as looking at things goes, the thing with the Lucerne was that apparently the manufacturer uses some sheisse Indian softwood for the hafts, and they dry out and splinter quite easily. Their swordsmithing is apparently variable at best, but I figured that there's a lot less chance of even Indian peasants frakking up with a blunt object. Lot more things to go wrong with blades. The halberd head seems almost suspiciously cheap, but I haven't found any horror stories about GDFB, and it's only the one site that has it so cheap. I figure maybe they managed to wangle a good deal out of the maker or something, or just have less of a markup. But yeah, the maker's armour is supposed to be a bit iffy, and I'd have my doubts about any sort of blade at that price, but it's not a very complex piece of metal and at $90 it's not a huge expense.

Not like anyone's on topic. Actually, I think you are on topic, seeing how you are discussing sport equipment. Big D. approves!

Anything you do like?? yes, just haven't found a sport for me yet. I tried out for a track team, but I didn't make it. I wouldn't of gotten to do pole vaulting anyways this year though :/

| I'll bring this convo back on topic... I LOVE sports, especially soccer. I'm currently playing competitive touch rugby, which is awesome fun I used to play cricket, badminton, squash (raquetball), and I also like volleyball. | |

American Football is the real man's sport! You say that... But I always fail to see what's so manly about a bunch of dudes groping each other in tight pants.
