Helvetica, please Then why not try something else? Something new? Sure. As long as the background is not too bright, and the font color stands out.

I never said this was authorised but then,a re strikes, boycotts or protests authorised By Tyrants- I mean government officials ? Think of this as a outsider movement or as a simple suggestion telling you the attitude of the people. Your choose...But we should get a chose...

Please don't start with the tyrant stuff again, I already had to deal with this last year. Sure, run the poll, and we'll listen to the results. But it doesn't mean we'll change it. For example, I'm not changing it to pink or baby blue. Period.

I also would like blue with white text, but I guess the way it is right now is fine.

For example, I'm not changing it to pink or baby blue. Period. Okay lets get this straight. I did not ask for pink, that was your sarcastic retort and arteesa's meddling ASNd where in the poll does it say baby blue? And i'm not calling you a tyrant! I just said it could be called an outsider movement. But now i think calliing it that is a bit extreme

| For the record, the text colour is actually a pale blue. The background is dark grey. I find the combination is quite legible, and easier on the eyes than the MOCpages black-on-white.
So let's have a look at the other proposals, shall we?
Pink with blue text: DEAR LORD, MY EYES! That's why I picked it, you know. Demonstrating that "not drab" isn't always a good thing. And the current one isn't drab; it's got these nice blue highlights. Or maybe it's more of an indigo. I don't know. Don't really care.
Orange with black text: Legible, but you'd need sunglasses. No, you couldn't wear them: if you did, you wouldn't be able to read the text.
Blue with white text: See above.
Light Pink with black text: The trouble with light colours is that they're obnoxious and stand out; a pale red would be quite readable, but pink? Actual, solid pink? The whole point of a background is that it doesn't stand out much.
Clouds in the sky background with black text: Good luck with that. You'd only be able to see it on the left and right screen edges, anyway; we've got this hex pattern there currently, and it only shows up in a few places. Pink with flowers and white text: Black-on-pink would be legible for a few minutes. White on pink, not so much.
Green background with yellow text: Again I say MY EYES!
(Oh, yeah: to change the background to a colour that isn't dark, we'd have to muck up the whole format of the forum. What we have right now, with the blue gradient bars and the buttons, is a preset theme. We'd have to change themes to get one that wouldn't clash with, oh, pink. And that would be a lot of work.)
Now, all that matters about a forum is that it be readable for long periods. Can you read the text on this forum without getting sore eyes? Yes. I know this because I tend to stay up late doing these sorts of things, and I can't say the same about MOCpages.

I'm demonstrating why black-on-orange as a colour scheme is unpleasant to the eyes.

Not too bad actually. Though it might just look good compared to that garish orange.
